Managing Legal Counsel - Nordics (Commercial Contracting): Advising BCG on complex commercial agreements, legal risk, data protection, technology transactions and regulatory compliance across the Nordics and broader EMESA region with an accent on Swedish and Norwegian contracting, commercial risk management and responsible AI use. Focus on negotiating global services, SaaS, data and AI-enabled agreements, building scalable legal workflows, and guiding stakeholders through complex legal and operational risks.
Location: Nordics, with support for operations in London, Amsterdam, Brussels and the broader EMESA region.

What you will do
- Draft, review and negotiate complex commercial agreements, including master services, client, vendor, licensing, SaaS, data, technology, subcontractor, partnership and nondisclosure agreements.
- Advise BCG teams on commercial matters, intellectual property, digital and technology issues, data protection, competition law, trade regulations and conflicts of interest.
- Identify legal, commercial, operational and reputational risks, explain implications to senior stakeholders and recommend practical mitigation strategies.
- Implement and improve contracting standards, policies, templates, playbooks, knowledge tools and scalable legal processes.
- Lead responsible use of AI and legal technology for legal research, risk assessment, contract review, drafting and negotiation preparation.
- Coach Legal team colleagues and business stakeholders while supporting GDPR compliance, data-breach investigations and regulatory matters.
Requirements
- J.D. or equivalent graduate degree in Law from an accredited law school and admission to practice.
- 10+ years of commercial contracting experience with international exposure.
- 5+ years at a reputable law firm preferred, with relevant in-house experience preferred.
- Fluency in English, Swedish and Norwegian required; the role requires negotiating and reviewing contracts in Swedish and Norwegian.
- Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, risk-management and stakeholder-influencing skills.
- Experience with legal technology, contract lifecycle software and responsible AI use.
