Backend Intern (AI)

Location: Israel; hybrid work with an expectation of working primarily from an HPE office, three to four days per week

What you will do

• Join a Zerto development team working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Develop new backend features and resolve challenging bugs.
• Contribute to a distributed, multi-service system with complex business logic.
• Work with Kubernetes, .NET Core, virtualization APIs, and related technologies.
• Use AI tools across research, design, coding, code reviews, environment provisioning, deployment, and bug analysis.

Requirements

• Undergraduate student in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering with a GPA of 85 or higher and at least two years of study remaining.
• Availability to work three to four days per week, approximately 60%–80%, in the hybrid office-based model.
• Understanding of object-oriented programming using C#, C++, or Java.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to learn complex systems independently and collaborate effectively.
• Passion for using AI-powered approaches in software development.

Nice to have

• Multithreaded programming experience.
• Experience with virtualization and cloud platforms such as VMware, Azure, or AWS.
• Experience with containers, Docker, Kubernetes, Agile methodologies, or REST APIs.
