TL;DR
Software Engineer I Co-op (Portfolio Intelligence Team) (C#/AWS/AI): Building scalable cloud applications and an insights pipeline for identifying risks in strategic initiatives with an accent on agentic workflows, machine learning, data science, and automation. Focus on developing resilient services, improving CI/CD, analyzing technical problems, and creating test scenarios.

Location: Vancouver, Canada; 8-month co-op term

Salary: CAD 3,500–4,700 per month

What you will do

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain features for the Portfolio Intelligence product.
  • Build scalable and resilient cloud applications in AWS using C# and other modern technologies.
  • Develop and manage an insights pipeline combining agentic workflows with machine learning and data science capabilities.
  • Improve CI/CD automation with GitHub Actions and maintain development and testing tools.
  • Analyze, reproduce, and resolve technical and application problems.
  • Collaborate on requirements, solution design, code reviews, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an applicable co-op program at BCIT, UBC, UVic, or SFU.
  • Application through the co-op office or university job board with an academic transcript.
  • Exposure to software development in a modern object-oriented language such as Java, C++, or C#.
  • Basic knowledge of computer science fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, problem solving, and asynchronous architectures.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively in a team environment.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and willing to seek guidance when needed.

Nice to have

  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB, or MongoDB.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
  • Knowledge of containers and orchestration, including Docker or Kubernetes.
  • Experience with REST, HTTP, test-driven development, or distributed team projects.
