Sr Resident Engineer - Meta (Juniper)

Location: Remote/Teleworker in the United States; San Francisco, California, or Denver, Colorado, preferred. Occasional travel under 10% and customer-site work may be required.

Salary: USD 111,000–211,000 annual base salary in Colorado; USD 120,000–243,000 annual base salary in California.

What you will do

• Provide post-sales technical and operational support for HPE and Juniper networking products.
• Work with customers to gather network requirements, run information-gathering and technology workshops, and support network design.
• Test new tools, features, patches, and fixes in laboratory and pre-production environments before live-network implementation.
• Support the design and planning of Juniper MX, QFX, EX, and related service-provider network solutions.
• Help define best practices, troubleshoot network issues, and communicate workarounds, solutions, risks, and project status.
• Collaborate with customer teams, JTAC, escalation, engineering, and other Resident Engineers during network upgrades and changes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or equivalent experience.
• At least 7 years of implementation and technical support experience with networking products in LAN, WAN, Internet services, technology vendor, or service-provider environments.
• JNCIE, CCIE Service Provider, or equivalent certification.
• Expertise with JUNOS CLI across MX, QFX, and EX series, including OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, MPLS-TE, RSVP, LDP, IPv6, and routing policy.
• Experience with VPN and tunneling technologies, including MPLS, EVPN, L3VPN, VPLS, Ethernet switching, 802.1Q, QoS, and SDN.
• Strong customer communication, presentation, project coordination, independent-work, and troubleshooting skills.

Nice to have

• Programming or scripting experience with Python, Ruby, shell, awk, Slax, or Ansible.
• Cloud architecture, network management tools, network analyzers, trend analysis, or database experience.
• Experience with BGP route-reflector topologies and communication with internal escalation and engineering teams.
