Principal Product Line Manager – Campus Switching

Location: United States; hybrid work with an average of 2 days per week from an HPE office

Salary: USD 172,000–349,000 annual base salary in California; variable incentives may also be offered.

What you will do

• Own product strategy and multi-year roadmaps for campus switching hardware, software, and networking silicon.
• Define technology, portfolio, business, pricing, and investment strategies across access, aggregation, and campus core solutions.
• Lead product lifecycle management from concept and launch through growth, transitions, and end-of-life.
• Develop business cases, TAM analyses, financial models, investment proposals, and executive recommendations.
• Partner with ASIC, hardware, software, marketing, sales, finance, and operations teams to define differentiated products.
• Evaluate AI networking capabilities and engage customers, partners, analysts, and executives to validate roadmap priorities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
• 12+ years of experience in product management, product line management, technical marketing, engineering, or related infrastructure roles.
• Deep expertise in enterprise switching, routing, campus architectures, network fabrics, cloud-managed networking, or networking silicon.
• Experience leading complex infrastructure products from concept through launch, adoption, lifecycle transition, and end-of-life.
• Strong understanding of Ethernet switching, Layer 2/Layer 3 networking, enterprise campus architectures, and network fabrics.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing executive-level roadmap, platform, and investment decisions.

Nice to have

• MBA or advanced engineering degree.
• Experience with merchant silicon ecosystems, ASIC requirements, platform architecture, and silicon-enabled differentiation.
• Experience with cloud-managed networking, AIOps, telemetry, automation, network assurance, autonomous remediation, or AI-driven networking operations.
• Experience with enterprise switching operating systems, network management platforms, and software-defined networking architectures.
