Analyst – Investment Performance and Regulatory Reporting

Location: Melbourne or Sydney, Australia; hybrid work with at least three days per week in the office

What you will do

• Maintain and reconcile investment performance systems across custodian feeds, unit pricing, and internal records.
• Perform data quality checks, manage exceptions, and resolve discrepancies in source data.
• Collate investment and regulatory datasets, documenting definitions, methodologies, and procedures.
• Support benchmark indices, composite calculations, and attribution analysis against benchmarks.
• Coordinate with custodians, data vendors, fund accounting, and investment management teams for regulatory submissions.
• Support audits, ad hoc analysis, system upgrades, data warehouse initiatives, and regulatory change projects.

Requirements

• Appropriate approval to work in Australia is required.
• Three to five years of experience in investment performance reporting, fund operations, or financial data analysis within financial services.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Power Query, VBA, and complex formulas, plus experience with SQL.
• Understanding of asset classes, benchmarks, return attribution, and risk metrics.
• High attention to detail and experience producing accurate, audit-ready outputs under deadline pressure.
• A tertiary qualification in finance, economics, accounting, mathematics, statistics, or a related discipline.

• Experience with investment performance systems.
• Progress towards CFA or CIPM qualifications.
• Experience improving processes through automation, enhanced data sourcing, or risk mitigation.
