Finance Business Partner - Innovation (Fintech)

Location: Full-time onsite at the Melbourne office, Australia

What you will do

• Deliver annual budgets and quarterly reforecasts for the Innovation portfolio, coordinating inputs from product and functional leads.
• Build integrated P&L, cash flow, operating driver, profitability, and unit economics models across entities, products, markets, currencies, and jurisdictions.
• Own monthly management reporting, including variance commentary, margin analysis, headcount, operating expenditure, and capital expenditure tracking.
• Evaluate business cases, investment proposals, pricing, fees, promotions, go-to-market activity, vendor negotiations, and total cost of ownership.
• Support entity structures, revenue recognition, cost allocation, licensing fees, duties, taxes, and regulatory compliance cost decisions.
• Partner with Data and Analytics on SQL and Databricks data, payment-ledger reconciliation, and automated recurring reporting.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in FP&A, commercial finance, or business partnering.
• Strong financial modelling and data analysis skills, including advanced Excel and working knowledge of SQL.
• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Economics, or a related discipline.
• CA, CPA, or CIMA qualified, or in the final stages of completion.
• Experience with business intelligence and data tools such as Power BI, Databricks, or similar.
• Ability to influence non-finance stakeholders, communicate financial concepts clearly, and operate across multiple entities, currencies, and jurisdictions.

Nice to have

• Experience in iGaming, fintech, payments, or technology, including transaction-level data and reconciliation.
• Hands-on Databricks experience and comfort working with large datasets.
• Python or similar scripting experience for data analysis and automation.
• Experience in regulated or licensed environments, payment service provider economics, or greenfield entity and system setup.
