Actuarial Intern (Medicaid)

Location: Hybrid role based in Phoenix, Arizona; Seattle, Washington; or Minneapolis, Minnesota, with at least three days per week in the office.

What you will do

• Perform responsibilities comparable to full-time analysts with support from experienced colleagues.
• Work with actuaries to apply actuarial methods and assumptions in health care rate development.
• Analyze health care and Medicaid claims data using spreadsheets and database management software, primarily Excel.
• Develop reports, spreadsheets, and presentations.
• Contribute to projects involving government-sponsored health and welfare programs, including Medicaid and Medicare.
• Collaborate with programmers, actuaries, clinicians, and colleagues across the consulting practice.

Requirements

• Progress toward a bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
• Currently enrolled as a student with an expected graduation date of December 2027 or Spring 2028.
• Minimum preferred GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0.
• Commitment to achieving a Society of Actuaries designation.
• Legal authorization to work permanently and continuously in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, along with strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
