Sr. Engineering Manager, Cloud & On-Premise Software Development

Location: Puerto Rico; hybrid schedule requiring an average of two days per week from an HPE office

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and develop a software engineering team responsible for security management software.
• Build and scale the Puerto Rico Security Management Engineering organization, including hiring and team development.
• Lead development for cloud and on-premises deployments using cloud applications and microservices architectures.
• Coordinate priorities and execution with globally distributed engineering, product management, user experience, and quality assurance teams.
• Guide the resolution of complex technical and business challenges while driving engineering quality and continuous improvement.
• Advise senior leadership on organizational strategy, policies, and long-term goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 5 years of experience managing people and leading software engineering teams in a product development organization.
• Experience building cloud-based products with microservices architectures and strong knowledge of cloud applications, platforms, and technologies.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams across multiple geographic regions and managing diverse, multicultural teams.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, conflict resolution, presentation, and operational execution skills.
• Proficiency in English required.

Nice to have

• Experience in cybersecurity, network security, or Secure Access Service Edge technologies.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and shift-left quality methodologies.
• Experience building software platforms consumed by multiple applications and services.
• Familiarity with enterprise-scale cloud-native architectures and SaaS platforms.
