Senior Manager, Engineering

What you will do

• Lead the engineering organization responsible for hirify.global Registrar and hirify.global Registry.
• Recruit, mentor, and retain systems engineers while fostering a culture focused on speed, reliability, and continuous delivery.
• Define the technical and product roadmap for domain management with Product Management and technical leadership.
• Own operational health, including SLOs, incident response, customer escalations, and technical debt management.
• Oversee scalable tools and APIs handling millions of domain lifecycle events with high availability and low latency.
• Coordinate with legal, security, registry bodies, and platform teams on compliance, ICANN policies, DNSSEC, testing, CI/CD, and zero-downtime deployments.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 4+ years managing engineering teams building scalable backend or infrastructure systems.
• Hands-on systems programming experience with Go, Java, TypeScript, Ruby/Rails, or similar languages.
• Experience operating high-throughput microservices, distributed data infrastructure, or public cloud platforms such as GCP and Kubernetes.
• Ability to participate in system design reviews, unblock complex technical work, and translate infrastructure and regulatory requirements into execution plans.
• Demonstrated success developing senior engineers, shaping team culture, and driving accountability with empathy.

Nice to have

• Experience in domain registry or registrar systems, ICANN compliance, DNS, or DNSSEC infrastructure.
• Experience building on or integrating with hirify.global’s Developer Platform.
• Experience using AI coding tools to improve engineering productivity and workflows.
• Familiarity with OpenAPI, Postgres, Prometheus, Grafana, and Kibana.
