Lead Legal Counsel (Intellectual Property)

What you will do

• Shape and execute the global intellectual property strategy across hirify.global’s brands, products, technology, content, and creative work.
• Manage significant international matters involving trademarks, copyright, patents, domain names, trade secrets, and digital assets with external counsel and specialist providers.
• Provide rights-clearance and IP advice to Marketing, Creative, Brand, Design, Product, and Engineering from concept development through launch.
• Lead IP enforcement and dispute matters, including infringement, oppositions, litigation support, and evidence management.
• Draft and negotiate licences, coexistence agreements, assignments, merchandising arrangements, technology agreements, and strategic partnerships.
• Advise on patent strategy, software development, open-source software, generative AI, training data, provenance, ownership, licensing, and infringement risk.

Requirements

• Qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales or equivalent in another European jurisdiction.
• Typically 8+ years of experience, or equivalent demonstrated expertise.
• Deep experience in intellectual property, including trademarks, copyright, brand protection, licensing, portfolio management, rights clearance, and technology-related matters.
• Experience advising consumer technology or similarly complex businesses on software, digital content, product innovation, AI, and emerging technologies.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, commercial judgement, organisational, and project-management skills.
• Ability to advise senior stakeholders clearly and pragmatically while managing international portfolios, external advisers, and multiple priorities.
