Systems Engineer, Medical Device

Salary: $82,000–$150,000 per year, depending on experience, plus potential annual bonus and comprehensive benefits.

What you will do

• Develop medical devices from technology exploration and product definition through integration, verification, validation, and release testing.
• Translate customer needs into product requirements, engineering specifications, and documented design inputs and outputs.
• Coordinate technical contributors and collaborate on technology selection for software-controlled electromechanical systems.
• Manage design history files, project plans, milestones, schedules, deliverables, and technical data.
• Perform complaint, failure, and risk management activities, including mitigation and risk-control strategies.
• Support design transfer, product sustaining, reliability, manufacturability, field issue analysis, and quality-system activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field with 0–8 years of experience; alternatively, a master’s degree with 1–3 years or a PhD with 1+ years of experience.
• Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, methods, system modeling, and transformation applications.
• Ability to analyze problems, collect and evaluate data, define requirements, and develop scientifically sound solutions.
• Ability to manage priorities independently, communicate decisions, and deliver work against changing schedules and deadlines.
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and work effectively in a team-driven environment.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, strong presentation skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project.

Nice to have

• Experience providing technical guidance to engineers and designers or leading projects and teams.
• Familiarity with MATLAB, LabVIEW, or Enterprise Architect.
