Site Safety Manager

Location: United States – South Carolina – Remote; the role is based on a project in Columbia, South Carolina, with travel and on-call response required.

What you will do

• Prepare site-specific safety plans, Accident Prevention Plans, and Activity Hazard Analyses.
• Oversee daily construction and project operations to maintain a safe, healthy, accident-free work environment.
• Conduct safety audits, inspections, training, quarterly safety meetings, and follow-up reviews.
• Review subcontractor safety qualifications and participate in pre-construction meetings.
• Lead accident and incident investigations, develop corrective action plans, and resolve safety issues with project supervision.
• Maintain safety certifications and produce project safety reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Health, Engineering, or a related discipline, or at least five years of related experience in addition to a high school diploma or equivalent.
• At least five years of experience in commercial, government, or industrial safety management.
• EM-385 certification and current First Aid, CPR, OSHA, 30-hour Construction Safety, and industry certifications.
• Experience developing, implementing, and managing Accident Prevention Plans and Activity Hazard Analyses.
• Ability to review confidential US security information.
• Valid driver’s license, ability to travel, and availability for on-call response.

Nice to have

• CHST, CSP, ASP, CSHO, or equivalent professional safety certification.
• Experience with USACE, NAVFAC, AFCEC, or other Department of Defense construction contracts.
• Experience with electronic safety management systems and digital reporting.
