Location: Lewiston, Idaho, United States; onsite

Salary: $100,600–$144,400 annually for Mechanical Engineer; $91,500–$124,500 annually for Associate Mechanical Engineer

What you will do

  • Consult with internal and external customers on plastic injection molding problems and plastic part design.
  • Perform design for manufacturability and design for assembly reviews with R&D Engineers.
  • Conduct mold flow analysis using Moldex3D FEA software.
  • Design molds and other tooling, write mold specifications, review vendor designs, and manage external tooling projects.
  • Support assembly design, plastic and metal part design, tolerance studies, component selection, thermal analysis, and manufacturing process design.
  • Qualify and monitor tooling vendors, maintain bills of material and project documentation, and mentor junior engineering staff and interns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least 2 years of experience in three or more areas including electromechanical packaging, heat transfer, materials and processes, mechanics, or computer-aided design.
  • Strong problem-solving, project management, writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
  • Ability to learn new skills, assume new responsibilities, and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Must be a US citizen; satisfactory background check and negative drug test are required.

Nice to have

  • At least 2 years of SolidWorks or TopSolid experience.
  • Injection mold design, industrial plastics, thermal modeling, or finite element analysis experience.
