Low Voltage Field Service Technician

Location: Farmers Branch, Texas, United States. On-site role serving the Dallas–Fort Worth market with approximately 25% travel, including occasional longer-distance assignments.

Performance bonus opportunity: $1,500 after the first 90 days when performance expectations are met.

What you will do

• Install, configure, troubleshoot, test, and label commercial low-voltage systems.
• Build and organize MDF/IDF network racks and complete rack-and-stack deployments with routers, switches, patch panels, and related equipment.
• Pull and terminate CAT5e/CAT6 and coaxial cabling, including work with 66-block and 110-block terminations.
• Install and troubleshoot wireless access points, security cameras, VoIP phone systems, POS systems, TVs, digital menu boards, audio systems, and access control systems.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity and basic networking equipment using tools such as ping, traceroute, and Command Prompt utilities.
• Complete projects according to the Statement of Work, installation standards, and procedures while providing accurate documentation, photos, and updates.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of commercial low-voltage field technician experience and at least 2 years installing, configuring, and troubleshooting network equipment.
• Experience with network racks, structured cabling, routers, switches, wireless networks, VoIP phone systems, and security cameras.
• Strong understanding of LAN/WAN networking, static and dynamic IP addressing, router and switch configuration, Windows operating systems, and basic network troubleshooting.
• Ability to work independently at customer locations with minimal supervision and communicate clearly with customers and internal teams.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license are required. Technicians must also have a cellphone and standard low-voltage tools, including a drill, cable toner, cable tester, crimpers, punch-down tools, butt set, digital multimeter, label maker, ladder, and basic hand tools.
