Field Technology Specialist (Physical Security)

Location: Reston, VA, USA; travel of up to 85% required

Salary: $25.00–$40.00 per hour

What you will do

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot low-voltage systems supporting physical security and IT infrastructure.
• Deploy cameras, access control devices, power supplies, biometric systems, locking hardware, and related equipment.
• Install video and data cabling, assemble hardware, and use hand and power tools according to technical drawings.
• Evaluate system performance, provide quality assurance feedback, and support Windows environment hardening and configuration.
• Coordinate project materials and equipment, track hardware receipt, and support timely delivery of project deliverables.
• Work in indoor and outdoor environments, including climbing ladders, lifting equipment, and working at heights.

Requirements

• At least three years of experience in low-voltage installation, security systems, or IT hardware deployment.
• Strong understanding of IP-based systems and networking fundamentals.
• Experience with video surveillance systems and low-voltage infrastructure troubleshooting.
• Ability to interpret design plans, schematics, blueprints, and CAD drawings, with basic electrical theory knowledge.
• Valid driver's license and readiness to travel approximately 85% of the time.
• Ability to obtain and maintain government-issued security clearances.
