Manufacturing Systems Engineer (MES/SCADA)

What you will do

• Connect manufacturing equipment to data collection, MES/SCADA, and production systems.
• Troubleshoot connectivity and data-flow issues across equipment, controls, databases, reporting, and plant-floor systems.
• Implement and improve manufacturing visibility, traceability, production reports, and KPIs.
• Use SQL to investigate data, validate results, and resolve reporting discrepancies.
• Develop scripts and practical automations that reduce manual work and improve process reliability.
• Support broader Smart Factory, Industry 4.0, and advanced analytics initiatives.

Requirements

• Substantial plant-floor work in Troy, Ohio, with direct interaction with equipment and production teams.
• Experience troubleshooting machine connectivity, controls, manufacturing systems, or related data flows.
• Practical SQL skills for querying data and investigating discrepancies.
• Ability to write or modify scripts in at least one language, such as Python.
• Experience with MES, SCADA, machine data acquisition, or comparable manufacturing systems.
• Strong communication, collaboration, learning agility, and ownership skills.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Ignition or industrial communication protocols.
