Project Engineer I (Outdoor Power Equipment)

Location: Anderson, SC, United States; onsite. Up to 10% international and domestic travel.

New product development engineering work focused on outdoor power equipment.

What you will do

• Support product requirements, engineering specifications, critical-to-quality measures, and project scope for assigned NPD programs.
• Maintain work breakdown structures, action trackers, milestone plans, risk reviews, and project documentation.
• Coordinate prototype builds, testing, design reviews, pilot builds, and product release activities.
• Support cost tracking, competitive benchmarking, value engineering, product performance, and compliance activities.
• Work with Design Engineering, Quality, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Compliance, Reliability, and suppliers to resolve project issues.
• Facilitate project meetings, document decisions and actions, and communicate progress and obstacles across functions.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• At least 1 year of experience in engineering, product development, manufacturing, or project work; internships and co-op assignments count.
• Working knowledge of engineering fundamentals, drawings, product testing, and structured problem solving.
• Ability to organize technical information, maintain action trackers, and communicate clearly across functions.
• Strong analytical, planning, follow-through, and accountability skills.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, results-driven product development environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with outdoor power equipment, power tools, consumer products, or electromechanical systems.
• Familiarity with NPD stage-gate processes, DFMEA, CTQ development, and design verification.
• Experience supporting prototype or pilot builds and working with global suppliers.
• Basic proficiency with project scheduling, data analysis, and Microsoft Office tools.
