Focus on reviewing engineering plans, developing practical resiliency solutions, supporting grant funding, and coordinating projects from planning through construction.

Location: Richmond, Virginia, United States; hybrid role

Salary: $74,000–$105,000 annually

What you will do

  • Support planning, engineering design, and consulting oversight for municipal infrastructure assignments.
  • Prepare design and construction documents for stormwater, wastewater, water, climate resiliency, conveyance, and treatment projects.
  • Perform condition assessments, site visits, report preparation, hydraulic calculations, utility planning, technical specifications, and cost estimating.
  • Review engineering designs, bid packages, RFPs, and Statements of Work within program management assignments.
  • Support projects from planning and design through construction for Richmond-area and Virginia municipal clients.
  • Contribute to grant writing, funding procurement, peer mentoring, and business development with municipal clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering preferred.
  • At least 2 years of stormwater design and engineering experience, including studies, design, and construction services for municipal clients.
  • Experience developing designs and construction contract documents for complex infrastructure projects.
  • VA DEQ Plan Reviewer certification required, or the ability to obtain it within three months.
  • Familiarity with Virginia stormwater regulations, municipal infrastructure, and local permitting processes preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and deliver practical solutions for municipal clients.

Nice to have

  • Experience supporting municipal clients in the Richmond or Central Virginia area.
  • Experience with local Virginia permitting processes and stormwater regulations.
