Senior Civil Engineer - Water / Wastewater

Location: Hybrid in Newport News, Virginia Beach, Virginia; Hampstead, North Carolina; or Jacksonville, Florida, United States

What you will do

• Lead planning and design for municipal water and wastewater infrastructure, including pump stations, storage systems, pipelines, and utility improvements.
• Prepare or oversee engineering reports, technical specifications, construction drawings, design calculations, and cost estimates.
• Manage projects through design and support bidding and construction phases.
• Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, subconsultants, and multidisciplinary internal teams.
• Participate in client meetings, proposal development, business development, scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning.
• Mentor junior engineers and technical staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 10+ years of experience in water and wastewater engineering design, preferably in consulting.
• Strong experience designing municipal water and wastewater systems.
• Experience preparing plans, specifications, engineering reports, and design calculations.
• Knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal regulations, with strong communication and project-management skills.
