Manufacturing Engineer (Nuclear)

Location: Idaho Falls, Idaho, United States; onsite

Salary: $77,500–$100,000 annually

What you will do

• Transfer engineering drawings and product requirements into ERP item masters, manufacturing bills of materials, routings, and standard hour estimates.
• Develop tooling, fixturing, and manufacturing processes for electrical and mechanical assembly.
• Provide technical support to assembly and repair personnel and support engineering, operations, procurement, vendors, and suppliers.
• Review non-conformance reports and determine resolutions with quality assurance and operations.
• Lead continuous improvement, cost reduction, standard work, safe work instructions, and design-for-manufacturability initiatives.
• Support proposals by assessing manufacturing requirements and cost estimates, and research replacements for obsolete components.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Person due to the nature of work and potential access to export-controlled information.
• At least 5 years of experience in a custom, make-to-order, highly engineered manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD or a similar program and broad manufacturing experience, especially electrical and bench-top mechanical assembly.
• Strong working knowledge of IPC-610 and J-STD / IPC-7711/7721 standards.
• Strong problem-solving, document review, analytical, judgment, and decision-making skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with machining, coating, UV printing, laser engraving, welding, or joining processes.
• Familiarity with 10 CFR 50 Appendix B requirements.
