Design Application Engineering Intern (Summer 2027)

What you will do

• Support technical engagements from design concept through tape-out and help achieve first-time-right design execution.
• Review and reproduce customer and design enablement issues, assess design-flow requirements, and recommend solutions.
• Collaborate with Application Engineers, subject matter experts, EDA partners, and technology teams.
• Track customer cases, risks, actions, technical milestones, and closure criteria.
• Develop customer-facing presentations, application notes, evaluation summaries, and technical documentation.
• Support process-improvement projects and follow Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements.

Requirements

• Be at least a sophomore at the time of application and actively pursue a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Maintain at least a 3.0 overall GPA and good academic standing.
• English fluency is required for written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.

Nice to have

• Prior related internship or co-op experience and demonstrated leadership experience.
• Interest in using AI tools and emerging technologies to improve productivity and decision-making.
• Project management, communication, planning, and organizational skills.
• Coursework or project experience in digital design, place and route, analog or mixed-signal design, simulation, layout, verification, silicon photonics, or semiconductor device physics.
• Familiarity with Cadence Virtuoso, Synopsys OptoCompiler, Calibre, Pegasus, Linux, Microsoft Office, Verilog, Verilog-AMS, PDKs, or IC design flows.
