Critical Environments Operator II (Data Center)

Location: San Antonio, TX, United States; onsite work in a 24/7/365 data center environment, including extended hours during emergencies.

What you will do

• Perform operations and maintenance activities for data center and assigned building systems while preserving critical load reliability.
• Use the CMMS to manage maintenance work, labor hours, preventive maintenance orders, and reactive work tickets.
• Respond to building system alarms, perform initial troubleshooting, stabilize equipment, and support root cause analysis.
• Provide Level 1 support for Windows servers, including reboots, hardware swaps, and customer setup.
• Install customer orders, cabinets, cages, offices, cross-connects, and tested cabling circuits.
• Coordinate contractors and vendors, including site access, escorting, lockout/tagout, safe work areas, and project execution.

Requirements

• Three to five years of experience in Tier 2, Tier 3, or Tier 4 data centers, operations and maintenance, or building engineering.
• Entry-level electrical, mechanical, or HVAC/R skills acquired through an associate degree, technical training, or facility maintenance experience.
• Experience with work order control, computerized maintenance management systems, subcontractor and vendor contract management, capacity planning, and KPI reporting.
• Ability to use hand tools and test equipment, troubleshoot equipment alarms and graphical interfaces, and support electrical and mechanical systems at a journeyman level.
• Knowledge of optical reflectance, cable length, and decibel loss measurement; strong PC skills with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to work onsite 24/7/365 and adjust hours for emergency corrective maintenance, including extended hours during events such as hurricanes.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Visio, AutoCAD, ITIL, and service-level standards.
