Senior Software Engineer (Insurance)

Location: Denver, Colorado, or Seattle, Washington, United States; hybrid role requiring attendance in the office up to three days per week. Legally authorized US work status is required.

Base pay: $120,000–$160,000 per year, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and enhance scalable web applications for the Insurance business.
• Build integrations with third-party web services, relational databases, APIs, and user-facing interfaces.
• Own existing applications through troubleshooting, bug fixes, upgrades, refactoring, and performance improvements.
• Break down complex business and technical requirements into resilient, maintainable solutions.
• Contribute to code reviews, testing, documentation, design discussions, and continuous engineering improvement.
• Collaborate with engineers and business partners, communicate technical tradeoffs, and mentor engineers through feedback and reviews.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience building and supporting web applications.
• Experience with an object-oriented programming language and web framework; the primary stack is C#, .NET, and ASP.NET.
• Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.
• Experience with relational databases such as SQL Server, database design, data access patterns, APIs, service-oriented systems, and event-driven systems.
• Strong knowledge of maintainable design, SOLID principles, design patterns, code review, unit testing, and Agile delivery.
• Demonstrated experience using AI for workflows, automation, technical processes, or business outcomes, plus the ability to drive AI adoption.

Nice to have

• Experience with NoSQL databases and cloud environments such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Azure experience with provisioning, monitoring, performance management, or Application Insights.
• Knowledge of HTML5, CSS, and current TypeScript-based web development practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
