Principal Software Development Engineer (Java/React/TypeScript)

Location: Dublin, Ireland; flexible hybrid model with work based at the new Dublin office

Annual base salary: €90,000–€125,000 EUR

What you will do

• Lead the full software development lifecycle for dealer-facing products serving the Canadian and UK markets.
• Design and build full-stack features, robust microservices, and modern web applications using Java, React, and TypeScript.
• Develop third-party API and partner integrations, including applications built with Remix.
• Modernize and rearchitect systems using cloud technologies such as AWS and Terraform.
• Improve reliability, performance, automated testing, observability, and production operations across multiple services.
• Mentor engineers and guide strategic technology decisions in collaboration with product managers and stakeholders in Dublin and the US.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 3+ years as a technical lead or principal engineer.
• Deep full-stack expertise with Java and TypeScript or similar languages, plus Spring Boot, Hibernate, and React.
• 5+ years designing, deploying, scaling, testing, and evolving distributed systems in 24/7 production environments.
• 2+ years working with cloud infrastructure technologies such as AWS and Terraform.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, service-oriented architecture, production troubleshooting, and automated testing.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, business judgment, and an aptitude for using AI tools such as Claude Code or Cursor.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with LLMs.
• Deep experience with server-side TypeScript and modern isomorphic frameworks, especially Remix; Next.js or Express are also valued.
• Car industry expertise.
