Product Operations Specialist (Fintech)

Location: San Francisco, CA; hybrid

What you will do

• Develop operational solutions for complex business risk issues and improve product operations.
• Automate and streamline operational processes by building internal tools or selecting external vendors.
• Review high-priority merchants, assess risk factors, and investigate fraudulent behavior with partners.
• Troubleshoot payment issues and provide high-quality support to merchants by email and phone.
• Manage cross-functional workstreams with customer support, data science, compliance, and engineering teams.
• Use data-driven analysis to identify optimization opportunities and support capital originations.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of professional experience, including 2–3 years in operations at a fintech startup, bank, or payments company.
• Strong understanding of payments.
• Excellent communication skills and a strong quantitative, detail-oriented approach.
• Ability to work effectively in an entrepreneurial environment.

Nice to have

• Experience in fraud or risk management.
• Understanding of, or interest in learning about, capital or lending products.
• Experience with data analysis tools such as SQL, R, or Python.
