Business Risk Management Associate (Fintech)

Location: Chicago, United States; hybrid schedule with in-office work on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday at the downtown Chicago office

Base salary: USD $70,000–$108,000 per year, plus eligibility for an annual bonus

What you will do

• Support the Corrective Actions Program by reviewing and reconciling internal and external risk incidents and loss events.
• Manage issues from initial discovery through closure, including issue tracking and reporting.
• Partner with business leaders and functional teams to identify, manage, and mitigate key risks.
• Document operational risks and develop front-line controls with stakeholders.
• Identify emerging risks, trends, and material enterprise-wide risk issues for executive leadership.
• Support change management for new products, initiatives, and strategies while assessing their impact on the risk profile.

Requirements

• Experience querying and analyzing large datasets to assess scope and impact.
• Strong collaboration, communication, program management, and project management skills.
• Knowledge of risk management concepts, including compliance, regulatory significance, risk events, and scenario analysis.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Liberal Arts, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of experience in risk management, audit, legal, compliance, or project management; experience with projects in complex business environments is preferred.
• At least 1 year of SQL experience and advanced Microsoft Office skills are required.
