Patient Access Specialist (Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management)

Location: Onsite at Mercy - Kings Mills Hospital in Mason, Ohio; candidates must reside and be authorized to work in the United States.

Salary: $17.00–$18.15 per hour, based on experience.

What you will do

• Perform patient admitting, pre-registration, demographic and insurance information collection, and physician order processing.
• Assign accurate medical record numbers, complete medical necessity and compliance checks, and select appropriate insurance plan codes.
• Explain consent, Medicare, TRICARE, observation, and other patient forms; obtain required signatures and distribute patient education documents.
• Conduct inbound and outbound calls, operate the hospital telephone switchboard, provide patient support, and collect point-of-service payments and past-due balances.
• Use auditing and reporting systems to correct accounts, complete quality audits, and provide statistical data to Patient Access leadership.
• Screen Medicare medical necessity using ABN software and document applicable notices and forms.

Requirements

• Onsite availability at Mercy - Kings Mills Hospital in Mason, Ohio.
• Residence and authorization to work in the United States required.
• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of customer service experience.
• Inquisitive mindset and openness to innovation, including AI-enabled process improvements.
• CRCR certification required within nine months of hire; certification is company-paid.
