Patient Access Specialist (Part-Time, Evening Shift)

Location: Onsite at 25 N. Winfield Rd., Winfield, Illinois, United States. Part-time evening shift from 3:30 p.m. to midnight.

Salary: $18.40–$27.60 per hour.

What you will do

• Provide patient-first customer service and respond to questions, concerns, and service issues.
• Collect and verify patient demographic information, registration data, referrals, authorizations, and insurance details.
• Schedule appointments, direct patients through hospital systems, and perform medical necessity and financial account checks.
• Use Epic, online order retrieval systems, and real-time eligibility tools to document and verify patient information.
• Coordinate with hospital departments, physician offices, scheduling staff, and internal support teams.
• Participate in quality assurance, process improvement, cross-training, and staff training activities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–3 years of customer service or medical office experience.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Computer data-entry skills, basic computer proficiency, and typing speed of 40 words per minute.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, written communication, organizational, analytical, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA, compliance, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.

Nice to have

• Additional education or language skills.
• Healthcare finance or healthcare insurance experience.
• Experience in healthcare, patient scheduling, or patient registration.
