Staff Software Engineer (Architecture)

Location: Dallas, TX — hybrid with at least 3 days per week in the office

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership and architecture guidance across multiple engineering pods and key product domains.
• Lead modularization, platform decoupling, modernization, and technical debt reduction initiatives.
• Design secure, resilient, performant cloud-native services and influence multi-team technical direction.
• Partner with engineering, product, clinical, and compliance stakeholders on architecture, regulatory constraints, and product roadmaps.
• Guide and mentor engineers through architecture reviews, code reviews, design discussions, and working examples.
• Lead discovery and prototyping for integrations and data flows involving Salesforce, FHIR, HL7, Kafka, and other external systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of professional software development experience, including 3+ years in a senior, staff, or principal-level role.
• Experience designing distributed systems, APIs, and cloud-native services with .NET Core, C#, and React or Angular.
• Strong knowledge of domain-driven design, microservices, event-driven architecture, Apache Kafka or similar messaging platforms, and saga patterns.
• Hands-on experience with Azure or AWS, serverless functions, messaging queues, managed databases, and infrastructure as code such as Terraform or Bicep.
• Experience with CRM integrations, CI/CD, observability, DevSecOps, secrets management, and communicating complex technical topics to diverse stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience in regulated industries such as healthcare, financial services, government, insurance, or banking.
• Experience applying FHIR, HL7, or X12 standards in healthcare systems.
• Familiarity with cross-cloud or hybrid-cloud architecture patterns.
