Senior Director, Engineering (MEPFP)

Location: Full-time onsite work at an hirify.global-designated worksite in New York, with responsibilities across facilities in New Jersey and Washington, DC, and occasional coordination with the Broadcast Operations Center in Centennial, Colorado.

Salary: $160,000–$200,000 per year, plus bonus and long-term incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Lead engineering operations for critical and non-critical mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, emergency power, BMS, and other life-safety systems.
• Manage a union-represented team of approximately 45 engineers and electricians providing 24/7/365 facilities coverage.
• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance, operating and capital budgets, vendor relationships, productivity, and KPI compliance.
• Plan and execute MEP projects, including design reviews, contractor coordination, infrastructure upgrades, and long-term capital planning.
• Lead incident reviews, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, continuous improvement, and reliability initiatives targeting 99.999% on-air performance.
• Coordinate critical systems work, broadcast events, utilities, landlords, business units, and fire-life-safety operations across multiple facilities.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience managing critical MEPS systems.
• Thorough knowledge of MEPS, BMS, critical systems technologies, design philosophies, construction projects, and methodologies.
• Experience developing budgets, operating procedures, technical presentations, and infrastructure plans.
• Strong communication, leadership, organization, prioritization, and technical problem-solving skills.
• Availability to address emergencies and unforeseen issues 24/7.
• Ability and willingness to work onsite in New York and periodically at facilities in New Jersey and Washington, DC.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Hands-on field experience with critical facilities systems.
• Experience maintaining high functionality in high-pressure environments and leading by example.
