Director, DC Operations (AI Infrastructure)

Location: US; site-based leadership role at the North Carolina campus. Relocation is expected for candidates outside a reasonable commuting distance.

Base salary: $200,000–$270,000 USD per year, plus potential bonus, equity, and commission programs.

What you will do

• Lead day-to-day operations and operational performance for the North Carolina data center campus.
• Build the operating model, staffing structure, escalation paths, KPIs, and operational excellence program for current and future growth.
• Define operational readiness and handover requirements for new facilities, systems, capacity expansions, and major infrastructure deployments.
• Oversee electrical, mechanical, cooling, controls, monitoring, and other critical infrastructure supporting high-density AI compute.
• Establish maintenance, asset management, CMMS, critical spares, OEM service, incident response, emergency response, and root cause analysis practices.
• Build and develop a high-performing Operations organization while partnering with Engineering, Construction, Commissioning, IT/AI Infrastructure, Security, EHS, Procurement, and other functions.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in mission-critical operations, data centers, power generation, utilities, industrial facilities, semiconductor manufacturing, or another complex operational environment.
• Experience leading critical infrastructure operations where safety, availability, and operational discipline are essential.
• Experience leading technical teams and developing operational leaders.
• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical infrastructure and their interdependencies in mission-critical facilities.
• Experience with operational procedures, maintenance programs, incident management, emergency response, and MOP-, SOP-, and EOP-driven environments.
• Strong judgment, decision-making, communication, and leadership skills during high-pressure operational events.

Nice to have

• Experience with hyperscale, AI, high-density compute, or large-scale data center infrastructure.
• Experience with high-density electrical distribution, liquid cooling, BMS, EPMS, DCIM, SCADA, controls, or monitoring systems.
• Experience establishing operational readiness or handover programs for new facilities and major infrastructure deployments.
• Experience with CMMS, critical spares, OEM service models, management of change, operational risk management, or root cause analysis.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations, facilities management, or a related technical field.
