Software Engineer 3 (AI)

Location: USA. Most roles offer flexibility to work from home or in the office.

Salary: $170,000–$215,00 per year, subject to location, experience, and education.

What you will do

• Build and evolve full-stack patient financial products used by millions of patients annually.
• Design and launch AI- and ML-powered features, including LLM integrations and an AI chat agent for personalized billing guidance.
• Develop integrations with financial partners to deliver new payment solutions.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and partner engineering teams to create technical plans and production-ready software.
• Shape team direction, coordinate complex development efforts, and mentor peers.

Requirements

• Independent, hands-on coding and problem-solving skills, including handling complex edge cases and optimizing efficiency.
• Full-stack experience with React and TypeScript plus Python and Django or comparable technologies; recent frontend experience is required.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, well-tested code and proactively manage technical debt.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for explaining complex technical concepts.
• Experience solving complex problems in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
• Understanding of patient and end-user needs when shaping product solutions.

• Hands-on experience with generative AI and LLMs.
