Fullstack (AI)

Location: Hybrid role based in New York City, San Francisco, or Seattle; other US locations may also be considered.

Salary: $146,000–$240,000 base compensation in San Francisco and New York City; $132,000–$216,000 in other US locations, plus equity.

Writer provides an enterprise end-to-end platform for building and deploying AI agents powered by company data and enterprise-grade large language models.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure agent-driven services and systems using modern AI frameworks.
• Build high-throughput APIs and infrastructure for agent memory, communication, skills, decision logic, security, and workflow management.
• Integrate agent capabilities with backend services, data stores, vector databases, search and retrieval systems, and external APIs.
• Translate agent use cases into production-ready software in collaboration with product managers, AI researchers, data engineers, and UX teams.
• Implement monitoring, observability, CI/CD, fault tolerance, and reliability practices for agent components.
• Contribute to architecture decisions and rigorous code reviews.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 3+ years of Python in production environments.
• Experience using agentic coding tools such as Cursor and Claude Code.
• Experience building distributed systems, microservices, or complex backend APIs supporting AI and agent workflows.
• Expertise integrating AI models, agent frameworks, vector databases, and large-context reasoning services.
• Experience with cloud platforms, Docker, Kubernetes, testing, performance optimization, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience building AI agents that coordinate multi-step actions, reasoning, or autonomous decision-making loops; frontend experience with React and TypeScript is also required.
