Clinical Laboratory Supervisor - Mass Spectrometry

Location: Burlington, North Carolina, United States. Onsite, Monday–Friday, 5:00 p.m.–1:30 a.m.; overtime or other shifts may be required based on business needs.

What you will do

• Supervise daily operations of the Mass Spectrometry department and monitor laboratory workflow.
• Ensure accurate, timely testing and appropriate staffing and assay coverage across shifts.
• Directly supervise, train, coach, and mentor laboratory personnel.
• Investigate production errors, escalate issues when necessary, and drive process and service improvements.
• Maintain equipment quality control, quality assurance records, policies, procedures, payroll, and personnel files.
• Perform bench work as needed and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical or biological science, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology; qualifying non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits may be accepted under CLIA standards.
• At least 6 years of clinical laboratory testing experience.
• Knowledge of laboratory operations, CLIA, CAP, and relevant state regulations.
• Experience in a high-volume laboratory environment and familiarity with laboratory information systems.
• Strong attention to detail, communication, organizational, decision-making, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to handle physical job requirements and pass a standardized color-blindness test.

Nice to have

• At least 6 months of supervisory or team leadership experience.
• ASCP or AMT certification.
