Senior Principal Presales Systems Engineer, Cloud and AI Networking

Location: Remote/Teleworker in the United States; willingness to travel up to 50%, including international travel on short notice.

Annual salary: USD 194,500–456,500, with location-based ranges of USD 221,000–429,000 in Massachusetts, USD 221,000–456,500 in California, and USD 194,500–456,500 in Texas. Compensation includes 75% base salary and 25% target-level sales compensation.

What you will do

• Act as the primary technical architect during complex sales cycles and translate business requirements into scalable networking solutions.
• Design end-to-end infrastructure for AI networking, hyperscale data centers, cloud environments, and WANs.
• Lead solution customization and coordinate specialists, systems engineers, and product teams.
• Deliver demonstrations, proofs of concept, technical presentations, and RFP or tender responses.
• Engage hyperscalers, enterprises, service providers, and technology partners to co-design solutions.
• Develop architecture playbooks, enablement materials, and best practices while mentoring sales engineering teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in network infrastructure architecture, design, solutions consulting, and large-scale AI or cloud data center networking.
• 10+ years of experience with JunOS, EOS, IOS, and hyperscale network architecture; JNCIE or equivalent certification.
• Expertise in routing, MPLS traffic engineering, switching, EVPN/VXLAN, MP-BGP, SDN overlays, network fabrics, DCI, provisioning, automation, and monitoring.
• Experience with Python, APIs, JSON, NETCONF/REST APIs, YANG, virtualization, DPDK, SR-IOV, SmartNICs, and networking platforms from Juniper, Arista, Cisco, SONiC, or Cumulus.
• Strong presales, customer engagement, presentation, communication, RFP response, and technical leadership skills.
