Senior Director of Network Engineering (AI Cloud Infrastructure)

Location: Hybrid, with presence in the Bellevue or San Francisco office four days per week; work-from-home day is Tuesday.

Salary: $399,000–$531,000 annual base salary for the Bellevue location.

What you will do

• Own the architecture, security, performance, availability, and cost of global GPU fabrics, data center fabrics, backbone, and internet edge networks.
• Build multi-year roadmaps for network architecture, data center fabrics, cloud connectivity, capacity, peering, transit, internet exchanges, and backbone traffic engineering.
• Own network readiness for AI data center builds, including site turn-up, validation, capacity delivery, and vendor coordination.
• Manage network operating and capital budgets while reducing cost per GPU, port, and Gbps.
• Lead 24/7 global network operations, incident response, reliability targets, telemetry, monitoring, and blameless postmortems.
• Build and lead multidisciplinary network and software engineering teams, including hiring, development, performance management, and organizational scaling.

Requirements

• 8+ years designing and operating highly available, large-scale cloud or enterprise networks, including leadership of network engineering teams.
• 2+ years managing managers and a proven record of scaling engineering organizations.
• Deep expertise in BGP, EVPN/VXLAN, Clos and spine-leaf fabrics, software-defined networking, traffic engineering, zero-trust security, network automation, and AWS or OCI.
• Experience with high-performance fabrics such as internet, backbone, RoCEv2, or InfiniBand.
• Experience owning network capital and operating budgets and managing hardware, optics, transit, and colocation vendors.
• BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience in GPU cloud, HPC, or AI/ML infrastructure environments.
• Experience with large-scale data center build-outs, fabric deployment, structured cabling, optics, commissioning, and capacity modeling.
• Experience running global peering and transit strategies, including IX presence, ASN and IP address management, and DWDM or dark-fiber backbones.
• Hands-on experience with Arista, Juniper, Cisco, NVIDIA Spectrum-X and Quantum, SONiC, Terraform, Ansible, or gNMI/OpenConfig.
• Experience with SOC 2, ISO 27001, FedRAMP, or data-sovereignty requirements.
