Clinical Laboratory Technologist - Chemistry

Location: Burlington, North Carolina, United States; some listed locations include Richmond, Virginia, and RTP, North Carolina. On-site work is scheduled Tuesday–Saturday, 12:30 a.m.–9:00 a.m.

What you will do

• Evaluate specimen acceptability according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical laboratory procedures under standard operating procedures.
• Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.
• Prepare, test, and evaluate reagents and controls.
• Report accurate and timely results to support patient care.
• Perform preventive maintenance, quality control, supply replenishment, and specimen processing while maintaining a safe work environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical science, biological science, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology.
• Applicable non-traditional degrees with sufficient science credits may satisfy CLIA education requirements.
• Understanding of laboratory operations, policies, and procedures.
• Ability to work independently and within a team, with strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
• Computer proficiency and familiarity with laboratory information systems.
• Ability to meet physical requirements, pass a standardized color blindness test, and work overtime or other shifts when needed.

Nice to have

• At least three months of clinical laboratory testing experience.
• ASCP or AMT certification.
