Medical Laboratory Scientist Chemistry Part Time Evenings (Clinical Chemistry)

Location: Central DuPage Hospital, 25 N. Winfield Rd., Winfield, Illinois, United States. Onsite part-time evening shift from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., with rotating weekends and holidays.

Salary: $34.00–$52.70 per hour.

What you will do

• Perform pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic clinical laboratory workflows, including order verification, specimen receipt, processing, preparation, storage, and transfer.
• Conduct laboratory tests according to written protocols and standard operating procedures while meeting established turnaround times.
• Review, interpret, verify, amend, and release test results, including critical-value notifications and follow-up on unusual findings.
• Maintain instruments, reagents, supplies, quality-control records, and test-system integrity.
• Troubleshoot workflow and test-system problems, escalate unresolved issues, and coordinate STAT testing and changing work priorities.
• Support billing and charge capture, staff and student training, new test validation, SOP reviews, safety, confidentiality, and service excellence.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a qualifying Allied Health field.
• General MLS or MT ASCP certification, eligibility, or qualifying categorical BB, C, H, or M ASCP certification or eligibility.
• Candidates hired after January 19, 2025 must obtain ASCP or equivalent certification within one year of employment.
• Ability to work onsite from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., including rotating weekends and holidays.
• Ability to follow laboratory SOPs, regulatory and accreditation standards, safety procedures, and patient-confidentiality requirements.
