Specimen Processor (Laboratory Diagnostics)

Location: South San Francisco, California, United States; onsite. Schedule: Tuesday–Saturday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

Salary: $25–$27 USD per hour, with potential discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Receive, accession, verify, label, track, and document clinical specimens.
• Enter requisition data into the laboratory information system and complete related administrative and clerical tasks.
• Identify specimen-processing problems that may affect test results and notify the supervisor.
• Document corrective actions, follow laboratory policies and procedures, and support regulatory compliance and inspections.
• Assist with research, validation, continuous improvement, equipment maintenance, supply tracking, and laboratory cleanup.
• Work with Customer Care and laboratory staff to resolve specimen issues and accessioning requests.

Requirements

• 0–2 years of accessioning experience and/or laboratory experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.
• Good verbal and written communication, judgment, problem-solving, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently in an onsite laboratory environment.
• Ability to perform repetitive hand, arm, leg, finger, typing, and writing movements and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
