TL;DR
Clinical Laboratory Technologist - RIA (Clinical Laboratory Testing/RIA): Performing routine and complex laboratory testing, specimen evaluation, instrumentation troubleshooting, and quality control procedures with an accent on accurate results, reagent evaluation, and safe laboratory operations. Focus on making technical testing decisions, maintaining instrumentation, and supporting patient care in an overnight Sunday–Thursday schedule.

Location: Burlington, North Carolina, United States. Work schedule: Sunday–Thursday, 10:00 p.m.–6:30 a.m.

What you will do

  • Determine specimen acceptability and assist with specimen processing.
  • Perform routine and complex technical laboratory procedures according to standard operating procedures.
  • Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.
  • Prepare, test, and evaluate reagents and controls.
  • Report accurate and timely test results to support patient care.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, quality control, documentation, and bench supply replenishment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical or biological science, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology.
  • Understanding of laboratory operations, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Computer proficiency and familiarity with laboratory information systems.
  • Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills; ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.
  • Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test and work overtime or other shifts when required.

Nice to have

  • Three months or more of clinical laboratory testing experience.
  • ASCP or AMT certification.
  • Non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits meeting CLIA standards may satisfy the education requirement.
