Software Developer I (Go/Linux)

Location: Bath, UK (hybrid); employees must live within commutable distance and work at least two days per week in the Bath office. Core hours are 9:30–16:00, with occasional work outside regular hours or on weekends.

What you will do

• Develop build, deployment, and test tooling for edge virtualization and containerisation infrastructure.
• Work with cloud technologies and Infrastructure as Code tools.
• Collaborate with developers across the organisation and perform code reviews.
• Help team leads and architects define backlog stories.
• Liaise with QA and internal stakeholders to deliver appropriate, high-quality solutions.

Requirements

• Degree in a numerate discipline is typically expected.
• Strong development skills and understanding of clean code, agile, and SOLID principles.
• Working knowledge of Go or Python, Linux, Bash, and Git.
• Must be able to work from the Bath office at least two days per week and live within commuting distance.
• Ability to develop innovative solutions to complex technical problems and learn new technologies.

Nice to have

• Exposure to cloud computing, ideally GCP.
• Extended Linux knowledge, including networking, installation, boot processes, kernel configuration, and kernel modules.
• Experience with Docker or Kubernetes containerisation.
• Experience with Ansible, Terraform, or GitHub pipelines.
