TL;DR
Clinical Laboratory Technologist - Hematology (Clinical Laboratory): Performing routine and complex hematology testing, specimen evaluation, instrumentation operation, and quality control procedures with an accent on accurate results, troubleshooting, and patient-care support. Focus on evaluating specimens, maintaining laboratory equipment, preparing reagents and controls, and solving technical problems in an onsite laboratory environment.

Location: Onsite positions in Birmingham, Mobile, and Brentwood, plus West Monroe, United States. Work schedule: Tuesday–Saturday, 12:00 a.m.–8:30 a.m., with rotating weekends.

What you will do

  • Evaluate specimen acceptability and assist with specimen processing.
  • Perform routine and complex technical laboratory procedures according to standard operating procedures.
  • Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.
  • Prepare, test, and evaluate reagents and controls.
  • Report accurate and timely test results to support patient care.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, quality control, supply replenishment, and safety procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical or biological science, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology.
  • Applicable non-traditional degrees with sufficient science credits may qualify under CLIA standards.
  • Understanding of laboratory operations, policies, and procedures.
  • Computer proficiency and familiarity with laboratory information systems.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team, with strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements and pass a standardized color blindness test.

Nice to have

  • At least three months of clinical laboratory testing experience.
  • ASCP or AMT certification.
