Software Engineering Manager – Generative AI & Enterprise Platforms

Location: Hybrid, with an average requirement of 2 days per week in an HPE office.

What you will do

• Build, coach, retain, and grow an inclusive multidisciplinary engineering team across AI, frontend, cloud, networking, and quality engineering.
• Translate customer and product needs into outcomes, roadmaps, staffing plans, milestones, dependencies, acceptance criteria, and incremental releases.
• Enable agile execution, rapid feedback, prioritization, risk management, transparent reporting, and re-planning as requirements evolve.
• Guide experimentation and proofs of concept through transition into secure, maintainable, production-ready enterprise products.
• Partner with senior technical leaders on architecture, security, accessibility, responsible AI, testing, observability, CI/CD, documentation, and technical debt.
• Coordinate product, engineering, security, business, onshore, and offshore stakeholders while managing dependencies, operational excellence, and broader engineering strategy.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or a related discipline.
• 15+ years of relevant industry experience and 5+ years of people management experience.
• Experience managing and scaling teams across AI, frontend, cloud, networking, and quality engineering.
• Experience building products with LLMs, RAG, agents, and React; knowledge of AWS AI services, Kubernetes, infrastructure automation, observability, and distributed systems architecture.
• Understanding of advanced networking protocols and technologies, including EVPN, VXLAN, BGP, IP Clos fabrics, Netconf, Restconf, gRPC, SNMP, and LLDP.
• Experience with test automation, AI evaluation, performance and scale validation, network validation, release readiness, responsible AI, adversarial testing, prompt-injection risks, and production monitoring.
