Global Category Manager (Steel & Non-Ferrous Metals)

Location: United States; must live within commuting distance of the Plano, Texas office. Telecommuting is permitted in accordance with company policy.

What you will do

• Establish and execute category strategies for steel and non-ferrous metals.
• Manage approximately $250 million in annual category spend.
• Lead category teams and sourcing initiatives focused on cost reduction, cash improvement, quality, service, and supplier performance.
• Improve supplier on-time delivery, payment terms, fulfillment, and reduce sole-sourced spend across divisions and plants.
• Negotiate supplier agreements to optimize inventory, quality, cost, and commercial terms.
• Present initiatives and coordinate projects with teams, stakeholders, suppliers, and clients.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in engineering, business, supply chain management, or a related field.
• Seven years of experience in the offered position or in supply chain management or sourcing activities.
• Five years of experience in category management, commodity strategy, procurement and materials management, and procurement contract negotiation.
• Experience with steel, copper, aluminum, and zinc markets, including cost drivers and global supply and demand.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
• Three years of project management experience, including change management, plus experience communicating with teams and presenting to stakeholders and clients.
