Clinical Laboratory Technician

Location: Onsite positions at facilities in Petersburg, Richmond, Charlotte, Columbus, Burlington, RTP, Baltimore, and Knoxville, United States

Salary: $22–$35 per hour

What you will do

• Evaluate specimen acceptability and assist with specimen processing.
• Perform routine and complex technical laboratory procedures according to standard operating procedures.
• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.
• Make technical decisions related to testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test, and evaluate reagents and controls.
• Report accurate results, document preventive maintenance and quality control, and maintain a safe work environment.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in chemical or biological science, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology.
• Applicable non-traditional degrees with qualifying science credits may meet CLIA education requirements.
• Understanding of laboratory operations, policies, and procedures.
• Ability to work independently and within a team, with strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with computers and familiarity with laboratory information systems.
• Ability to meet physical requirements, pass a standardized color blindness test, and work overtime or other shifts as needed.

Nice to have

• Three months or more of clinical laboratory testing experience.
• ASCP or AMT certification.
• Experience in a high-volume laboratory environment.
