Reinsurance Contract Drafter

Location: Hybrid role based in San Francisco, Edina, MN, Philadelphia, New York City, or Seattle; at least three days per week in the local office or onsite with clients. Remote work may be considered for candidates with significant reinsurance experience.

Salary: $91,100–$167,200 base salary annually, plus potential performance-based incentives.

What you will do

• Manage the complete lifecycle of reinsurance contracts for assigned accounts.
• Draft contract language reflecting negotiations between clients and reinsurers, coordinate transmittals, and oversee final documentation execution.
• Build relationships with reinsurance brokers and clients and respond to contract-related inquiries.
• Analyze reinsurance contracts independently or with the Global Contract Consultant team using an AI-assisted contract analysis tool.
• Mentor colleagues new to the industry through the Contract Drafter Academy.
• Lead or support projects, including reinsurance training and workflow tools that improve efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements

• 7+ years of reinsurance experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or relevant professional experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage and prioritize work independently with strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work in the local office or onsite with clients at least three days per week.

Nice to have

• Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) designation.
• Law degree.
• Knowledge of contract law, contract provisions, reinsurance concepts and principles, basic regulatory controls, and general business trends.
