Senior Product Designer, Safety

Location: San Mateo, California, United States; hybrid office presence with onsite work Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, plus optional Monday and Friday presence

Salary: $214,710–$255,720 USD annual base pay, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Design platform-level safety experiences that explain policies, processes, and systems clearly and empathetically.
• Create accessible, age-appropriate safety journeys for young users, teens, adults, brands, and developers.
• Develop scalable and reusable safety patterns with the Foundation Design Systems team.
• Use data, user research, and experimentation to understand behavior during confusion, conflict, and rule-breaking.
• Partner with policy, product, engineering, and research teams to align strategy and deliver high-quality experiences.
• Define the UX strategy and roadmap for flagship safety experiences that support safe and civil behavior.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in HCI, Interaction Design, Design, or equivalent work experience.
• 8+ years of UX/UI design experience delivering systems-level work and consumer products.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional design skills and user-centered design thinking.
• Strong systems thinking and the ability to design complex workflows and interactions.
• Ability to balance business objectives, user needs, and technical constraints.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
