Lead Mechanical Engineer (Building Services) (Pharmaceutical, Biopharmaceutical and Chemical Projects): Leading building services engineering design for major projects from concept to completion with an accent on HVAC, utilities, BIM coordination, and technical and safety reviews. Focus on developing design solutions, sizing equipment, managing engineering teams, and delivering scope within budget and schedule.

Location: Hybrid in Cork, Ireland

What you will do

  • Lead the Building Services engineering design team and ensure delivery of agreed project scope.
  • Develop innovative mechanical design solutions and interface with client design teams and end users.
  • Lead technical and safety reviews and prepare AFDs, P&IDs, and equipment sizing calculations.
  • Oversee HVAC BIM modelling and coordinate the team’s progress.
  • Manage people, resources, deliverables, budgets, and project schedules throughout the project life cycle.

Requirements

  • Level 8 degree in Building Services or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Significant design experience in the pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, or chemical industry.
  • Experience leading large projects with a total installed cost above €200 million.
  • Strong design experience with utilities, including steam, LPHW, and CHW.
  • Experience leading, coaching, and developing engineering teams.
