Trainee BMS Commissioning Engineer (BMS)

Location: Carrick-On-Shannon, County Leitrim, Ireland; 50/50 office and site-based work with travel to the UK and Europe when required

What you will do

• Support senior BMS engineers with commissioning, testing, and system verification.
• Assist with BMS programming, software configuration, system setup, and HVAC and building control commissioning.
• Perform I/O checks, point-to-point testing, diagnostics, fault finding, and troubleshooting.
• Develop graphics, alarms, trends, and user interfaces using industry-standard control systems.
• Read electrical drawings, schematics, and project documentation, and complete commissioning records.
• Participate in site testing, client demonstrations, system handovers, and health and safety procedures.

Requirements

• Degree in electrical, mechanical, or related engineering, or suitability for a third- or fourth-year electrical/instrumentation apprentice moving into automation and controls.
• Strong interest in engineering, automation, technology, and building management systems.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel to the UK and Europe when required.
